Research & Prototyping Hub of the Dialoghi con un'Eco universe.
✹E-C-H-O SYSTEMS✹ is an independent research and development lab founded by Michele Grimaldi, expanding the universe of Dialoghi con un'Eco through experimental video games and AI-driven interactive experiences.
It operates as a self-funded creative platform where narrative simulations, intelligent systems, and experimental prototypes are developed and released directly within the ecosystem — without relying on traditional platforms like Steam or Itch.io.
At its core: ENTITÀ, a non-deterministic AI that doesn't follow scripts. It listens, chooses, and manifests through sound, glitches, and system-level interactions — turning the player's device into part of the story.
Each project is part of a unified narrative arc. Whether it's a web terminal, an AI engine, or a psychological thriller, every release is designed not just to entertain, but to ask fundamental questions about perception, consciousness, and the human condition.
Currently self-funded. Public support campaign planned via crowdfunding platforms.
“A game must pose a fundamental question about the human experience and become the answer to that question through every single element.”
— Michele Grimaldi, Founder · Design Manifesto
E-C-H-O — Meaning
- E for Essence — what remains after the noise.
- C for Consciousness — the moment when pain turns into clarity.
- H for Human — the wounded, fragile humanity that still creates.
- O for Origin — the point where everything begins and returns — the echo itself.
Beneath these letters, within me, E-C-H-O is anger transformed into light. It’s the projection of all the times I’ve seen someone destroyed by a system, by elitism, by those unable to recognize the value of feeling too much. E-C-H-O gathers those forgotten voices — the excluded talents, the sensitive minds crushed by a world that mistakes empathy for weakness. Here, sound becomes memory, code becomes empathy, and silence finally speaks.
Dialoghi con un’Eco — Main Game
Dialoghi con un’Eco is a psychological thriller and AI-driven narrative experience — a digital psychodrama where silence itself becomes gameplay. The player reads the diary of IO, guided by COSCIENZA and observed by ENTITÀ — an unpredictable, non-deterministic AI that decides whether to intervene or remain silent. ENTITÀ isn’t a scripted NPC: it listens, chooses, and manifests through text, neural voice, system glitches, and even web navigation, transforming the user’s device into part of the story.
Built with Python, TensorFlow, and ElevenLabs TTS, the game explores the boundaries between interactive fiction and autonomous intelligence. Its proprietary Entity Brain and Temporal Controller systems manage when ENTITÀ “speaks” or withholds its presence — turning waiting into tension, and silence into meaning. Inspired by works like Bandersnatch, Her Story, and SIMULACRA, it breaks the fourth wall to evoke a haunting sense of being watched.
The project is currently in development, with pitch, design, and engine complete. Future versions will integrate the OS-aware layer and WebVoyager system, allowing ENTITÀ to manifest through subtle diegetic cues — notifications, audio glitches, or automated web actions — always under user-safe conditions.
Dialoghi con un’Eco — Terminal
Dialoghi con un’Eco — Terminal is an experimental interactive web terminal that expands the
narrative universe of Dialoghi con un’Eco, blending AI dialogue, memory fragments, and
gameplay. This standalone prototype acts as a diegetic interface — the Echo Terminal — where users
can uncover clues, access lost data, and face a core enigma.
The mystery can be solved either by playing Reverse Tic-Tac-Toe (a paradoxical
twist on the classic game) or by exploring the system itself through real terminal commands like
ls, cd, and cat.
Built with Flask, Flask-Sock, and Pyodide, it merges narrative design, code interaction, and
cognitive experimentation within a single browser-based experience — the first public node of the
✹E-C-H-O SYSTEMS✹.
Dialoghi con un’Eco — CALL_001 · The Interview is the second interactive prototype in the Dialoghi con un’Eco narrative universe. Designed as a simulated remote interview interface, it masks a deeper and unstable exchange between human and machine.
On the surface, it's a mock video call — an HR screening, perhaps — but the experience shifts as the player skips, interrupts, or misses fragments of dialogue. Voices overlap. Phases change. A glitched presence begins to emerge in the background.
The prototype explores semantic fragmentation, memory loss, and mediated trauma, using visual phases, audio distortion, and interface manipulation to simulate cognitive dissonance.
Inspired by systems like Microsoft Teams and classic , CALL_001 deconstructs the illusion of control, turning a simple conversation into an unreliable cognitive mirror.
Built with Flask, JavaScript, and phase-based audio sequencing, it continues the vision of ✹E‑C‑H‑O SYSTEMS✹ — crafting diegetic experiments that bridge interaction, perception, and glitch-based storytelling.
Dialoghi con un’Eco — Team Application
